Life Lately

This boy loves drinking out of straw cups...Jude is always trying to steal mine or his daddy's.

We're working on more adoption paperwork.  Our home study rewrite was approved, so on to the dossier!

I got to go on a girls trip to Phoenix last weekend.  It was such a relaxing and fun few days!  We did some shopping, eating, laying by the pool...and not much else!

Oh, and we saw "Carlisle" from the Twilight movies at the mall. :)

My friend and I also hosted a "Downton Abbey" themed table for a women's church event.  It took a lot more work than we ever realized, but it was fun to see the finished product.

And finally, Judah's latest thing has been to "make tea."  Drew makes iced tea every few days and for some reason, Judah has just been fascinated by the tea maker.  When he's been waking up, the first thing he says is "Tea!"  Then he will play with the tea maker, lids, pitcher, and spoons for hours.  It is too cute.

Happy Easter!

We had a busy Easter day.  We started with getting this little boy dressed for church...

Unfortunately, we were running late and didn't get any good pictures of Judah all dressed up.  Sesame Street was on TV, and you don't mess with him when he's watching Elmo! :)

Then we had a really great service at church and went to brunch at my parents' house.  That afternoon, we went out to the cabin and Judah had his first Easter egg hunt.

He really just wanted to hold the eggs, not put them in the basket...

First egg hunt was a success!

We hope you had a happy Easter and remember the true reason why we celebrate:

"Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter
of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured
the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right
hand of the throne of God." - Hebrews 12:2

{Judah} 18 Months Old

We've already hit a year and a half and let me just say that I LOVE this age!  Judah can be so much fun and I love seeing how much he is learning everyday.  Not every minute is easy; we're starting to see him assert a little more independence too.  Things like getting a diaper changed or leaving somewhere before he's ready have let us have a sneak peek of some tantrums.

Here's what he's up to these days...

-We're starting to hear lots of words:  mama/mommy, dada/daddy, ball, no no, night night, up, bye bye, hi, ice, bear, doggy, hat, hot, ball, car, cracker, cheese, Belle.

-Some of his favorite foods are yogurt, crackers, applesauce, soups, spaghetti, and anything sweet.

-We're down to taking one nap after lunch, and he sleeps great at night.

-He knows how to sound like a train and a car and lots of animals.

-Judah is super active. He is climbing, running, opening and closing doors, throwing balls, etc.

-We just started watching Sesame Street and this boy loves Elmo!

-At his 18 month checkup, he weighed in at 27.6 pounds (87%) and measured 34.5" (99%).

 Getting pretty good at stacking

Digging in Mom's wallet (a favorite activity)

He really likes spaghetti!

He loves hats of all kinds

Reading one of his favorite books, "Corduroy Goes to the Doctor"
