Easter 2014

We had such a great Easter with Judah.  We dyed eggs on Good Friday and he really loved drawing on the eggs with the magic crayons and then watching them change color.

This year was especially fun because it was the first Easter where he's really gotten excited about looking for eggs and his basket.

He woke up early on Sunday morning and went looking for his eggs in our family room.  Then we told him to look for his basket.  The basket was behind a chair so it was hard to get a picture of his face when he saw it, but he was thrilled.

He got two new books, an "Up" coloring book, some candy, and a little Sully from Hallmark, plus some candy.

Later that morning, we went to church then went to my parents' afterward for brunch and another egg hunt.  He was spoiled rotten, of course! :)

It was a perfect day, sunny and warm, and we had so much fun celebrating.  Of course holidays are always a little hard because we were thinking of our little one in Congo, wishing they were home with us.  We're just going to keep praying that soon we will get to celebrate their first holidays home with us!

{Judah} 2 1/2 Years Old

Judah is now two and a half years old!  We are really enjoying this age with him and love watching him learn something new everyday.  Here's what Judah is like these days...

He is a pretty good eater.  He'll try almost anything but he does have his favorites.  Judah loves all fruits, especially strawberries and grapes.  Other favorites are applesauce, yogurt, cheese, and Pirate's Booty.

Cake pops from Starbucks might just be his absolute favorite!

Judah is talking so much right now.  He uses new words and sentences all the time.  It's so fun to hear what he is thinking about and noticing.  Even sweeter is that he's started praying...melt my heart!

He is such a little bookworm.  I have always loved books so I am thrilled that this is something that he enjoys too.

He really likes to play with his trucks, look at trucks, talk about trucks, read books about trucks...you get the idea! :)

Since we've had to spend so much time inside this winter, Judah has found ways to keep himself busy.  He and Drew like to play "flashlight tag" and find each other in the dark.  We also play with lots of Play-Doh and color pictures.

Judah has become very attached to a little blue tiger lovey.  He just loves his "Tigey."  Tigey goes everywhere we go and Judah cuddles him at night.  It is so cute.

Lately he likes to make a "little bed" and pretend to sleep on the floor...with Tigey of course!

Even though he's already two and a half, we still haven't moved him out of his crib or started potty training yet.  Knowing how he struggles with new things, we are not really looking forward to these changes...although we know they're coming soon.

We have our new underwear all picked out!

Favorite movies:  Monsters Inc. and Monster's University, Toy Story, Finding Nemo

Favorite books:  A Sick Day for Amos McGee, Richard Scarry books, Babybug magazine, Very Hungry Caterpillar

Right now, we're also in a nice toddler routine.  Judah usually wakes up around 7-7:30 in the morning, will take a couple hour nap around 1:00, then will go to bed around 8:00 at night.  In the mornings we try to run errands or spend the morning with friends.  A couple of weeks ago, we went to the zoo with a couple of his buddies!

Saying cheese!

Our little boy is growing up so much.  It's hard to see my baby getting so big, but we're really enjoying this stage too.  Our little Judah is the sweetest and we can't wait to watch him grow.  We are so thankful for our baby boy!
