Jude still doesn't care for tummy time, but he can at least go for a few minutes without crying. My best friend this month has been his activity mat. He is very content to look at his face from the hanging mirror and bat at the swinging toys. Plus, it folds up so it's easy to take places. If you're looking for a good mat that's not too expensive, check out this one.

{Judah} 3 Months Old
Jude turned three months old on Tuesday. This has been the most fun month we've had with him and I'm sure it only gets better. We have been able to interact so much more and he has spent so much more of his days smiling. Jude is still a great eater and even better...has slept through the night for the past month! I feel so much more rested and nothing is better than going to get him from his crib in the morning and see his smiling face. :)

Jude usually takes a good 3 hour nap on most days and does pretty well traveling in his car seat. Last month he loved his swing, but it seems like we don't use it as much this month. He did take his first bottle early in the month, but we haven't done too many since. It just seems so much easier to nurse him rather than get the bottle ready, so we might be in for a rough transition one of these days. Overall, we've had a fun month with our little guy with him even laughing for the first time on his 3 month birthday. He is a sweetie!

Judah's 1st Christmas
Christmas this year was so different, but so much better, with a baby! Shopping took a little more time and planning, but we were also able to order a lot of our presents online too. We put up the tree and lights the day after Thanksgiving and spent lots more family time in the living room so that he could look at all the lights. Judah also got to meet Santa at Bass Pro Shop.
On Christmas Eve, we spent the day at Drew's parents' house to eat and open presents. Here are a few pictures from the day.

On Christmas Day, we went to my grandpa's house for a meal and gifts.
To end Christmas night, Drew and I took special time to open a couple of gifts from us and to read the Christmas story together from the gospel of Luke.
We started all of our celebrations with family on the day before Christmas Eve. We took Jude to Drew's grandma's house to spend the evening with all of the cousins, aunts, and uncles. We got off to rough start because Jude had to be woken up from a nap to make the drive, then he was crying for a good part of the night. Poor guy was tired and we ended up having to leave early. But we loved getting to see Drew's family and enjoyed catching up with everyone.

Judah did great on both of these days and even took good naps in the pack 'n play and car seat. He received lots of nice things and will have plenty of toys for the upcoming year.

It was a perfect way to end the holiday!

{Judah} 2 Months Old
Everyone says that babies and kids grow up too fast, and it is so true. I really can't believe that Judah is two months old already. We had a great month with him and it's hard to remember what life was like not being his mom! Judah spent so much more time awake. We could notice that he recognizes us and a lot of times calmed down when we held him. Judah started to get into a little more of a routine, usually going to bed around 8 and waking up around 7. He took wonderful naps in his swing each morning which left me with lots of time to take a shower and clean up the house. He does so well going to bed each night, rarely crying and usually falling asleep all on his own within 10 minutes or so. Judah also started sleeping much longer stretches this month - very thankful for that! Towards the end of the month, he would sleep around 6 hours for the first stretch. He likes to be swaddled and listen to his giraffe sound machine each night.
Judah was so much more smiley this month and was a happy boy on his first Thanksgiving morning.
Judah can be pretty fussy sometimes, and it was something we asked the doctor about at his 2 month appointment. We're trying some medicine to see if he has some reflux, and hopefully that helps. He is definitely a healthy boy though - he weighs almost 13 pounds, 12.8 oz. (90th percentile) and is 24 inches long (85th percentile). Look how much he's already changed!
