{Judah} 4 Years Old

Four years old.  I can't believe we're already here.  Judah has grown up so much this year.  He is no longer a toddler, but a little boy.  We've had such a great year with our little guy!

Pretty much every morning this year, we had the same routine.  Judah would wake up and we would watch Curious George while he ate his oatmeal bar with a smoothie or applesauce pouch.  Then he would play with his toys while Daniel Tiger played on the TV.  That was our way of waking up each day and he is a creature of habit!

Judah loves to snack throughout the day and also eats quite a bit for breakfast and lunch, but for some reason doesn't like to eat much at dinner time.  Some nights have been a battle for him to finish his food, but he's starting to get better.

Some of his favorite foods are Annie's cheddar bunnies, Go-Go squeezes, yogurt squeezers, French fries, grilled cheese sandwiches, dried cherries, and spaghetti.

He is 3' 6" tall (84%) and weighs 38 pounds (64%).

Right now Judah is really into dinosaurs, Ninja Turtles, and sharks.

He loves to read books and color pictures.

His favorite shows are Daniel Tiger, Paw Patrol, Max and Ruby, and Curious George.

His favorite movies are The Lion King and How to Train Your Dragon.

He spends lots of time building with his Legos.

My baby started preschool this year!  He was really excited to start school all summer and was so ready for the first day to arrive.

Four year old interview:

What is your favorite color?  red
What is your favorite TV show?  Daniel Tiger
What is your favorite movie?  The Lion King
What is your favorite food?  French fries
What do you want to be when you grow up?  "do computers"
What do you like to do with Daddy?  play with robots
What do you like to do with Mommy?  watch The Lion King
What do you like to do with Sylvie?  tickle her

Judah's biggest change this year has been becoming a big brother.  He has been the absolute sweetest boy and loves taking care of his baby sister.  They are best buddies already and we have been so proud of him and the way he cares for Sylvie.

We made sure that Judah got to spend some one-on-one time this year.  He loved to go to the zoo with Daddy, and go on trips to Target and Barnes and Noble with Mommy.

We love our little Judah!

Pumpkin Festival 2015

We had such a fun week at the Pumpkin Festival! We went downtown for the rides on the first two nights, then watched the parade on Saturday morning.

First ride of the P-Fest!

Such a daddy's girl

Judah's first time riding the Ferris Wheel...he was a little nervous at first, but ended up being his favorite ride.

He really loved the motorcycles...and I think he thought he was actually driving

Couldn't even get a good picture they were moving so fast!

Watching the parade with Drew's family

Always on the lookout for candy

This girl did so great! It was a really long week and she handled it so well.

{Sylvie} 5 Months Old

The months keep going faster and faster...Sylvie is now five months old!

Sleeping:
Last month was a hard month for sleeping so I was hoping that this month would be much better - and it was!  Sylvie started sleeping through the night at four and a half months.  It has been so nice.  Most nights she will sleep from 8 PM to 7 AM.  It's not quite perfect yet though.  Most nights she will still wake up a couple of times a night to fuss for 10 minutes or so and then put herself back to sleep.

Sylvie is getting into a little more of a routine when it comes to naps.  Most days she will take four naps a day, although some days she only takes three naps a day.  A typical day for Sylvie looks something like this:

7:15  -  wake up
9:00  -  nap (anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours)
1:00  -  nap (45 minutes)
3:45  -  nap (45 minutes)
6:30  -  catnap  (15 minutes)
8:00  -  bedtime

That is not always what our day looks like, but this has become her routine when she takes a long morning nap.  Sylvie always sleeps with her white noise sound machine and is rocked for a few minutes before we lay her in bed.  Sylvie can usually fall asleep within a few minutes all by herself.

Eating:
Sylvie is still nursing, eating five times a day.

Growth:
We haven't gone to the doctor this month, so I'm unsure of her stats.  But she is definitely a growing girl.  We've had to retire some of her 3-6 month clothes and are starting to wear some of her 6-9 month outfits.

Milestones:
Sylvie rolled over for the first time (tummy to back) on August 20.  She seemed a little stunned the first time!  She hasn't done it again since...something to work on this month!

Likes:
Sylvie loves to be held.  She is generally pretty happy as long as someone is holding her, except she wants for the holder to be standing - not sitting.  Very picky! :)  She really likes bath time.  She did like riding in her swing a lot this month.  Most of all she loves Judah - that boy can get her to laugh like no one else.

Dislikes:
She still has a hard time if she gets over tired.  We also tried taking her swimming one afternoon and that did not go well.  We're not sure if it was the cold water or the hat but she was done swimming in about ten seconds!
