{Sylvie} 5 Months Old

The months keep going faster and faster...Sylvie is now five months old!

Sleeping:
Last month was a hard month for sleeping so I was hoping that this month would be much better - and it was!  Sylvie started sleeping through the night at four and a half months.  It has been so nice.  Most nights she will sleep from 8 PM to 7 AM.  It's not quite perfect yet though.  Most nights she will still wake up a couple of times a night to fuss for 10 minutes or so and then put herself back to sleep.

Sylvie is getting into a little more of a routine when it comes to naps.  Most days she will take four naps a day, although some days she only takes three naps a day.  A typical day for Sylvie looks something like this:

7:15  -  wake up
9:00  -  nap (anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours)
1:00  -  nap (45 minutes)
3:45  -  nap (45 minutes)
6:30  -  catnap  (15 minutes)
8:00  -  bedtime

That is not always what our day looks like, but this has become her routine when she takes a long morning nap.  Sylvie always sleeps with her white noise sound machine and is rocked for a few minutes before we lay her in bed.  Sylvie can usually fall asleep within a few minutes all by herself.


Eating:
Sylvie is still nursing, eating five times a day.


Growth:
We haven't gone to the doctor this month, so I'm unsure of her stats.  But she is definitely a growing girl.  We've had to retire some of her 3-6 month clothes and are starting to wear some of her 6-9 month outfits.


Milestones:
Sylvie rolled over for the first time (tummy to back) on August 20.  She seemed a little stunned the first time!  She hasn't done it again since...something to work on this month!


Likes:
Sylvie loves to be held.  She is generally pretty happy as long as someone is holding her, except she wants for the holder to be standing - not sitting.  Very picky! :)  She really likes bath time.  She did like riding in her swing a lot this month.  Most of all she loves Judah - that boy can get her to laugh like no one else.


Dislikes:
She still has a hard time if she gets over tired.  We also tried taking her swimming one afternoon and that did not go well.  We're not sure if it was the cold water or the hat but she was done swimming in about ten seconds!
