I cannot believe that my baby girl is almost done with her first year. It's so fun watching her grow and change but I want her to stay a baby forever!
Sleeping: She had a great month of sleeping. She's still taking two naps, around 9:45-11:25 and 2:30-4:00. Bedtime is around 8:00. She's still waking up around 5:00 to eat, but then goes back to bed until 7:15 in the morning.
Eating: Sylvie's eating changed a lot this month. I had to leave for a few days and we knew it was time for Sylvie to learn to take a bottle. We had tried a few, but it hadn't gone over well. It took her a few weeks to get used to it, but she is finally a bottle pro! She is down to nursing in the morning when she wakes up and before she goes to bed. She's been trying (and loving) lots more food like pizza.
Growth: We haven't been to the doctor in a bit, but she does seem to be getting longer and thinning out. No more tummy rolls like she used to have! She wearing 12 month clothes.
Milestones: This was a huge month for Sylvie. She is now a really fast crawler and enjoys getting into everything, especially the pantry and laundry baskets. Her first word was "mama," but she also says "hello" when pretending to answer the phone and "dada."
Likes: Sylvie is a big fan of Ritz crackers, reading books, getting out of the house and running errands, pulling my fabric off the shelves, and digging through the pantry.
Dislikes: She is still our little koala, and likes to be held close for lots of the day. If she's on the ground too long, she lets you know she's had enough of that!

{Sylvie} 10 Months Old
This little girl is 10 months old...
Sleeping:
Sylvie has become a pretty good sleeper! She's still taking two naps a day (same times as last month) and goes to bed around 8:00 at night. She's still waking up one time a night to nurse, but goes back to sleep until 7:00 in the morning. Finally...everyone is feeling more rested!
Eating:
Sylvie is starting to eat lots more. Her favorites are yogurt, toast, cheese, fruit purees, yogurt melts, and Cheerios. She is nursing five times a day, and has three meals at her high chair.
Growth:
She is our growing girl! Sylvie is wearing 12 month pajamas, and 6-12 month or 12 month clothes.
Milestones:
This month was so fun to watch Sylvie learn and grow. She can sign "all done" and "more." She also has learned how to clap, wave, and give kisses. And she said her first word - "mama!" Sylvie got another top tooth, so now she has five total. She is still not fully crawling, but can scoot herself around the room.
Likes:
Sylvie is still our little Koala, meaning she loves to be held all the time. She has also become obsessed with my phone...wants to hold it constantly and will scream if someone takes it away. We've watched the little stinker try to swipe the screen with her finger! Sylvie also likes going places. She gets really excited to go in the car to take a trip to the store, drop off Judah at preschool, go over to a friends house, etc. Maybe she gets tired of being in our house so much due to the weather, but I also think she's social and likes seeing new people and new things.
Dislikes:
She still doesn't like being left alone. Sylvie also gets mad when we take away my phone. Other than that, she's a pretty happy girl!
celebrating a very special birthday
she loves her BlaBla fox, Suzette!
always her daddy's girl

{Sylvie} 9 Months Old
This first year is going by WAY too fast. I really can't believe that Sylvie is nine months old!
Sleeping:
This month has probably been Sylvie's best to date for sleeping. Sylvie takes two naps a day. The first nap starts around 9:45 (2.5 hours after waking for the day). The second nap starts around 2:15 (3 hours after waking from her first nap). She is in bed for the night around 7:45. I wouldn't say she has a "schedule" since these times can vary from day to day, but her naps occur most often at those times so she's fully rested and happy. Sylvie is still waking one time each night for a feeding, around 4:00/5:00 AM. I am ready for a full night's rest one day, but I don't mind the early morning cuddles!
Eating:
This girl loves her Cheerios. She's also a big fan of puffs, fruity baby food, and the orange vegetables. This month we also tried peas as a finger food (they weren't a favorite so we'll have to keep trying), and small bites of crackers and bread. Sylvie also started feeding herself and has become a pro at that pincer grasp.
Growth:
At her 9 month check-up, Sylvie weighed 20 pounds, 12.6 ounces and measured 30 inches. She is wearing 6-12 month and 12 month clothes. Sadly only a few of her 9 month clothes still fit.
Milestones:
This was a huge month of change for our baby girl! Sylvie started feeding herself Cheerios on December 10. She also learned to wave, bounce up and down when she hears music, do the sign for "all done", and clap in the same week (last week of December)! She has gotten really good at sitting up by herself and is starting to move from the sitting position to laying on the floor. Sylvie also got her top two front teeth this month!
Likes:
Sylvie loves to be held, but mostly if you are up walking around. We call her Koala quite a bit :) She gets a bit restless being held in your lap for too long. She also loves Cheerios, pulling toys out of her basket, bouncing when she hears music, taking baths, going for car rides, and being the cart at the grocery store.
Dislikes:
Sylvie doesn't like being left in a room by herself, even for a second.

{Sylvie} 8 Months Old
Life at 8 months old has been so much fun with Sylvie. She has turned into a really happy baby (most of time) and loves being around people.
Sleeping:
This was a transition month for Sylvie. At the beginning of the month, she was still taking 3 naps a day. She still needed that extra 20 minute catnap to make it until bedtime. But then we started noticing that it was becoming really hard to get her to take that third nap and she wouldn't do it unless we were rocking her. So on days that she took good morning and afternoon naps, we would try for only 2 naps a day. Some nights she was pretty grouchy before bed, but by the end of the month we had fully switched over to 2 naps.
Most days her sleep schedule looked like this:
7:15 wake up for the morning
9:45 - 11:00 first nap
2:00 - 3:15 second nap
7:15 bedtime
Eating:
This was a huge month for Sylvie trying new foods! She loves all kinds of baby food. She seems to really love the apple/blueberry and squash the best. Pears and applesauce are also big hits. This month, Sylvie also got to try puffs, Cheerios, and crackers...yum! We're still working on her pincer grasp so not very much food has made it into her mouth by herself, but we're happy to feed her for now! Sylvie is also still nursing and is doing really well. We're just taking it day by day; as long as it's working for both of us we'll keep going for the next few months.
Growth:
We'll have to wait and see how she measures at her 9 month appointment for her stats. Sylvie is wearing a few 9 month clothes, all of her 6-12 month clothes, and starting to wear some 12 month clothes.
Milestones:
There weren't any real milestones that come to mind this month. She has become a lot better at sitting up, but still needs to be watched.
Likes:
Splashing and warm water at bath time, Cheerios, car rides, being with people, and Judah's big kid toys
Dislikes:
There's really not too much that Sylvie dislikes these days! She's turned into a pretty happy little girl. If she's crying, it's probably because she wants to be held.

Sylvie's First Thanksgiving / Thanksgiving 2015
With both sides of our family living close, holidays are always busy days. We started the day with lunch at my parents' house, and ended the day with Drew's side at his family's cabin. I didn't remember to take very many pictures but I got a couple of cute ones!
Sylvie is ready for her first Thanksgiving meal (puffs!)
Always watching her big brother
Judah was attempting to do bunny ears for a picture...but it ended up being a sweet shot of the two of them.
She was such a good baby all day...and it was a long day for her. She crashed as soon as we got home and slept all night.
My little family (minus one)
Happy Thanksgiving!

{Sylvie} 7 Months Old
Our baby girl is seven months old! That first birthday is coming way too quickly for us. Besides some crabbiness from teething, she has been a doll this month!
Sleeping:
We are finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel with Sylvie's sleeping. Most nights, she goes to bed around 7:30, will sing and jabber for a few minutes, and go to sleep. Then she will wake up around 4 or 5 in the morning to eat, and will go back to bed until 7 AM.
Naps have gotten better too. She does have a few short naps here and there, but most of them last around an hour and a half. She feels so much more rested and is a happy girl. She still takes 3 naps a day. She is awake for around 2 hours before she is ready to go back to sleep.
Except for a few rough nights with teething, Sylvie is finally getting to be a better sleeper!
Eating:
Sylvie is still nursing and is doing pretty well. We have introduced lots of new foods this month. She has tried applesauce, pears, prunes, sweet potatoes, carrots, and squash. Sylvie just gobbles them up. We also tried bananas but she seemed to have some diaper issues after that so we may wait to try those again for a bit.
Growth:
Not sure about her stats, but she is definitely a growing girl. She is wearing 6-9 month and 6-12 month clothes, but the 9 month sleepers are definitely starting to get tight. Can't believe she'll be moving up to 12 month sleepers soon!
Milestones:
Sylvie got her 2nd tooth on October 23. She also has gotten really good at rolling. Rolling tummy to back is easy for her, but rolling back to tummy is still something she's working on. She also sat up for the first time on November 1st! Sylvie also took a bath in the big tub and sat in the front of the cart this month.
Likes:
Sylvie's number one favorite thing is to do is watch Judah. She just thinks he's hilarious. She also loves chewing on things, playing in her jumper, going on car rides, eating her baby food, and watching the credits at the end of TV shows (just like her big brother did!)
She also has become pretty attached to her sleep sacks. Since she started teething, Sylvie has started sucking on the tops of them. I tried to put her down for a nap the other day without one and she would not relax and stop wiggling until I put her in her sleep sack. She instantly relaxed and went to sleep a few minutes later - I guess it's a comfort thing!

Just woke up and still in her sleep sack
First time riding in the cart like a big girl!
Lots of drool this month with a new tooth coming in!
We love her sweet smile.
Sylvie loves her daddy.
With cousin Josie at the cabin!

{Sylvie} 6 Months Old
Our little girl is 6 months old - half a year! - already. Time really needs to slow down!
Sleeping:
She rolled from her back on to her tummy on September 23. Sylvie can roll, but doesn't do it often so we are still working on tummy time every day.
She is also working on her first teeth. We can see little lines on her bottom gums and she is doing a lot of chewing, drooling, and is sometimes fussy so we know those little teeth are on their way.
Sleeping:
At six months, I would say that Sylvie sleeps mostly through the night. She goes to bed around 7:30 and will usually sleep until around 5 AM. Then she'll fuss in her crib until I feed her and she'll go to back to sleep until 7 AM. Some nights she does fuss in the middle of the night, but those are becoming less often and I think they are due to teething.
Sylvie naps three times a day. Her naps aren't very long though (around 45 minutes), and can lead to some crabbiness if she can't get back to sleep. She can be awake for about two hours before she needs to go back to bed...otherwise watch out! When Sylvie gets overtired, it is not pretty.
Eating:
She is still nursing, although it has become a little harder. She prefers one side which means I need to pump the other side sometimes. It's hard to fit that extra pumping session in when we're in a rush that day. She also is a lot more distracted and won't eat if Judah is in the room or if the TV Is on.
We did start solids on her six month birthday. We started with rice cereal and she ate just a little bit before she gagged and decided that was enough of that!
Growth:
Sylvie weighs 18 pounds, 9.6 ounces (87%). She is 26.25" long (64%). She can still fit in a few 3-6 month things, but they are getting really short. She is wearing mostly 6-9 or 6-12 month clothes.

Sylvie likes singing and music, chewing on fingers and toes, her colorful ball, riding in the car, taking walks, remote controls, and being rocked to sleep
Dislikes:
Wiping her nose and missing naps
She's always chewing on something!
I love that little tuft of hair :)
Ready for her first taste of cereal
Judah is such a good big brother - he gets very excited for all of Sylvie's "firsts"
