Sleeping:
This was a transition month for Sylvie. At the beginning of the month, she was still taking 3 naps a day. She still needed that extra 20 minute catnap to make it until bedtime. But then we started noticing that it was becoming really hard to get her to take that third nap and she wouldn't do it unless we were rocking her. So on days that she took good morning and afternoon naps, we would try for only 2 naps a day. Some nights she was pretty grouchy before bed, but by the end of the month we had fully switched over to 2 naps.
Most days her sleep schedule looked like this:
7:15 wake up for the morning
9:45 - 11:00 first nap
2:00 - 3:15 second nap
7:15 bedtime
Eating:
This was a huge month for Sylvie trying new foods! She loves all kinds of baby food. She seems to really love the apple/blueberry and squash the best. Pears and applesauce are also big hits. This month, Sylvie also got to try puffs, Cheerios, and crackers...yum! We're still working on her pincer grasp so not very much food has made it into her mouth by herself, but we're happy to feed her for now! Sylvie is also still nursing and is doing really well. We're just taking it day by day; as long as it's working for both of us we'll keep going for the next few months.
Growth:
We'll have to wait and see how she measures at her 9 month appointment for her stats. Sylvie is wearing a few 9 month clothes, all of her 6-12 month clothes, and starting to wear some 12 month clothes.
Milestones:
There weren't any real milestones that come to mind this month. She has become a lot better at sitting up, but still needs to be watched.
Likes:
Splashing and warm water at bath time, Cheerios, car rides, being with people, and Judah's big kid toys
Dislikes:
There's really not too much that Sylvie dislikes these days! She's turned into a pretty happy little girl. If she's crying, it's probably because she wants to be held.
