Big News!

We've had lots of changes going on at our house lately. We've been very excited about some new developments in our adoption. We have officially decided to switch countries...and will now be adopting from Ghana!

Here's how all this came about-
At the last Gladney conference call we learned that the wait time for Ethiopian adoptions seems to be getting longer and longer. We knew this was happening when we got back on the wait list, but it was still discouraging to hear. Shortly after that call, I was reading through some blogs. I learned that another Gladney family was going to be switching to a new agency to start an adoption in Ghana. I was so excited for this family - you know who you are :) - and started wondering if this could work for us.

After lots of thought and prayer, we decided to go for it. We are now one of the first families in a pilot program for Ghana through European Adoption Consultants. We will be requesting either gender, 24-36 months. So when Judah gets a sibling, he will be the little brother! :) 

I do want to mention that although we are very excited about this new step, we are also sad to be leaving Ethiopia and Gladney. We had absolutely no issues with Gladney; they just did not have another Africa program. We will miss working with them. And as for Ethiopia, we have loved this country for the last couple of years and were so excited to bring home a child from there. Someday, we hope to go on a mission trip and work with the Ethiopian people instead.

So now it's back to all that paperwork - AGAIN! We've been moving along pretty quickly and hope to have our dossier completed as soon as possible. We would appreciate your prayers for a smooth process and for our little boy or girl to be safe and healthy. More updates coming soon...
