Judah is two now, and it has been so much fun getting to see him enjoy the Christmas season this year. From putting up the tree, to seeing Christmas lights - he is noticing all of the best parts of Christmas. This year I decided to make a list of 25 things (one for each day in December) that I wanted to do with Judah to start our family's Christmas traditions.
Some of the things are easy (like driving around to see Christmas lights), some are just for fun (like watching the Grinch cartoon movie), but most are to teach Judah that Christmastime is about giving and our Savior being born.
Here are a few of the activities we've done so far:
Bought a toy for Toys for Tots
He was pretty interested about what goes in the baby's mouth...
Made treats for our favorite workers in town: the library staff and the fire department
It's Winnie-the-Pooh up there!
We had to make a stop at the train table (of course) while we were at the library.
(By the way - I am loving Judah's new hat. It is from Krochet Kids, another fair trade company and it is the softest hat you have ever felt!)
Mailed special packages to our sponsored kids
We've got a few more things we'd like to do for others and I'm hoping Judah will remember this about his family celebrating Christmas:
"Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion for God loves a cheerful giver." 2 Corinthians 9:7
